Westindies women team celebrates after winwing wt20

Simmons 89 not out was the man of the match in the game between West Indies and India. Simmons was the key man who held the West Indies innings together after they lost Gayle and Samuels in the early part of their chase to 191.

Simmons was as lucky as Kohli was. Like Kohli, he had three chances and that proved out that this was not India’s night. The first one came off Ashwin. Ashwin made Simmons caught at the short third ball and it went out to be a no-ball.

Ashwin overstepped and made a mess of the brilliant fielding display of Bumrah who took a really good catch diving to his right. Later Pandya got Simmons caught at covers by Ashwin and once again it was a no ball.

On both these occasions, the third umpire was involved in checking if the landing foot of Ashwin and Pandya were over the line or not. Both time these two bowlers over-stepped. India forgot that like them Simmons too knows a lot about this ground and the pitch.

West Indian did not panic till the end and eventually the power hitting of Russell took them safely into their second World t20 finals. From that six which Russell hit to seal the game onwards, it was party time in West Indian team. They reached the hotel playing the Champion song. all the West Indian players were dancing. Sammy and Bravo were leading the band. This is the first time that both West Indian men and women reached the finals of the World T20.
