Finch slams helmet in anger, IPL

Gujarat Lions is one of the new but strongest teams in the IPL 2016. This is the first edition of this new team and already they have made a name for themselves with some whooping performances. They have played three games so far and won all of them.

Aaron Finch is the key man for the Lions at the top order. In three games he has scored three fifties and is in a race with KKR’s captain Gautam Ghambir for the orange cap.

In their last game against the Mumbai Indians Finch in the final stages of the game was unable to get the ball over the ropes and in pressure and frustration he was seen slamming his helmet on the ground.

Finch hit the ball hard desperately looking for a boundary but after he got just two runs he removed his helmet and threw it hard on the ground. Then he pointed out towards the Lions dressing room and asked for a new one.

Finch did not wear a new helmet and continued playing with the old one after few adjust meets was made to it. But the good part is that he remained not out till the end and made Lions jump over the line at the end.

In the final over Bumrah had the ball in his hands and as we all know he is good with his Yorkers tried his best to put one in the right spot but failed. There was not a single yorker bowled by Bumrah that could have troubled the batsmen. He was hit for a boundary by Kulkarni and later on the last ball a pull on the leg side by Finch sealed the deal for the Lions.

Zalmi Cup final, Imran Khan first 3 balls and 3 fours

The start of the second innings of the Zalmi cup final was pretty interesting. Pakistan’s test fast bowler Imran Khan Jr.had the ball in his hands and we all know that he can swing both the new and old ball and yesterday he swung it massively.

The amount of swing was this much that Imran himself faced issues in controlling it. The first ball wavered and after it pitched on the leg stump line it swung away from the batsman and by the time it reached the wicket keeping area it was out of the reach f the wicket keeper.

The second ball was a good one, this time, Imran bowled it more into the line of the stumps but after hitting the thigh pad of the batsman the deviation took his ball again to the deep fine leg fence for the second four for the over.

On the third all the batsman went out of his crease to hit a big one and was beaten all ends up but the late swing again took the ball away from the wicket keeper and again the results were the same like the first two balls.

Imran Khan conceded three fours on his first two legitimate balls and none of them came off the bat. it was just the massive swing which took the ball away from the poor wicket keeper who was clearly struggling behind the stumps. He put his best efforts to stop the ball but each time there was so much swing on the ball that he got beaten three times on three back to back balls. Imran then altered his length as well just to keep control of the swing.

Abdul Razzaq 3 magical dismissals against Tendulkar

Abdul Razzaq remains one of the best all-rounders for Pakistan in the history of cricket. His bowling and batting won Pakistan many games. Back in 2000 during the Carlton and United Bank ODI series between Pakistan, India and hosts Australia, he was the nightmare for Sachin Tendulkar.

Razzaq was young at that time and used to swing and seam the ball a lot and batsman like Tendulkar used to face all the difficulties in the world to get through him.

In 4 pool games, Razzaq was able to take Tendulkar out three times. In the first game, he had the middle stump out of the ground and Tendulkar looked absolutely clueless on this one.

The ball came in with the angle of the hand; it had the swing and pitched a very good length as well. Tendulkar tried to cover the in-swing by offering a shot on the leg side but the speed of the ball beats him over all.

The ball went in between his bat and pad and knocked out the middle stump. In the second game, Razzaq bowled a genuine leg cutter to Tendulkar. This ball once again came in with the swing but just after pitching the seam movement took the ball away from the right-hander.

Tendulkar went for a straight bat shot but the ball passed his blade and hit the top of the off stump. In the third game, the pressure of facing Razzaq was enough for Tendulkar to edge a wide ball which he could have easily left alone.

This ball did nothing and was pretty much straight but Tendulkar went for it and as a result, a healthy edge was produced behind and Pakistani wicket keeper Moin Khan grabbed it as easily as one can imagine. Tendulkar was once again on his way back.

Afridi hits the ball near to traffic signal

Shahid Afridi hardly needs any introduction to the world of sports. He is famous for his big hitting abilities and cheeky leg spin bowling. Afridi is one of the highest wicket takers in T20 format of cricket and has played for almost 20 years of international cricket.

Afridi was inducted as a leg spinner in Pakistan team. In 1996, he went to Kenya as a replacement and there he struck that blistering world record of fastest ODI ton.

That one innings from him changed the whole context of his game and life. He was no more looked upon a bowler but a hard hitting batsman.

Pakistan cricket team started playing with him as an opener and Afridi was seen hitting balls. sometimes getting a lot of scores and sometimes he does not.

Afridi at a late stage went back to his bowling again. Earlier he was more like a side show in the bowling but then he worked hard on his bowling and proved that he still can turn the ball.

One of the most amazing shots that he played as a batsman was hit by him in Canada. Pakistan was playing an ODI against India and Afridi was the opener for Pakistan. Afridi immediately cut loose and started some runs.

He hit Kurowela for one of the most powerful and long sixes in that tournament. Kurowwela bowled a half-volley to Afridi whom he played very powerful. The bat kissed the sweet spot of the bat and went miles in the air and outside of the park. The ball almost broke out one of traffic signals present on the road. This hot clearly tells about how many muscles Afridi have in his body.

Amir untold heart touching experiences

The Mohammad Amir we see now as an accomplished young fast bowler has a history of pain and suffering. Now only this but the untold stories about a career-threatening back injury and a near death experience in Malaysia.

Amir spoke about these incidents on a TV show. He started with his back injury saying that he was with the junior team in England and there he fell and had his back injured.

Amir did not care much about the injury and kept on bowling until it gets worst. He was taken to the hospital and after the examination of his back; the doctors said that because his back has L3 and L5 injuries, he will not be able to bowl again.

Amir went back to Pakistan and met Mudassir Nazar. Mudassir in those days was the head of the NCA. He asked Amir to stay in NCA for a year. He provided Amir a physio just for his training and look after.

After one Amir recovered from his injury and successfully started bowling again. Amir in the very next year went to Malaysia with the under-19 team for the world cup.

There he got infected by Dengue virus and again he did not pay much attention, as a result he collapsed on the field. He was taken to the hospital in almost near to death situation. His platelets had dropped on a very life threatening level.

Amir remained in the hospital for several days. He said that he was inserted 27 drips in one night. The life looks pretty easy but there are always hidden struggles behind it. Amir went through a lot of pain and misery and now he has accomplished success after all.

Hogg brilliance in the field. IPL 2016

Former Australian leg spinner Brad Hogg has retired from international cricket but is still a part of many T20 leagues played around the globe. Hogg is the eldest player featuring in all the major leagues at this moment.

But it seems age is not letting him get old. He is quite fit enough and still bowls his full overs and is one of the best fielders in the business.

Hogg is currently in India playing the IPL 2016 for the Kolkata Knight Riders team. In their second game against Mumbai Indians Hogg not only bowled really well but also made a stunning piece of run out against the Mumbai Indian opener P Patel.

Patel who is much younger to Hogg lost the race courtesy to some fast running and strong throw from Hogg. Hogg was the bowler himself in this runout.

He bowled a fast one to Patel which he played on the leg side near the short mid-wicket area. Patel then came running in for a single. Hogg went to the ball like a flash and it was his quick response to the shot that made Rohit think again for the run.

Rohit did not commit himself to the run and as a result, he asked Patel to return back. In the meantime, Hogg slides towards to the ball and picked it up. The next thing was a fast and highly accurate throw to the keeper.

The LED in the wickets and bails flashed and the replay showed that the desperate diving Patel was a foot short of the batting line. He was clearly overtaken by the quickness of Hogg in the field. Hogg clearly showed that number doesn’t matter when it comes to age.

Amir takes down McCullum on the first ball

Mohammad Amir has been mentioned as the only match-winning player present in the current Pakistan cricket team and if we look at the recent performances of all the players, this is very much true. Amir has built up his reputation back again.

In the recent events in which he performed, he remains the most exceptional bowler. After the ICC lifted their 5-year long ban on Amir, he went straight towards the domestic cricket in Pakistan and performed brilliantly well.

His performances were observed by the BPL franchise owners and hence he was taken in the league. Amir performed exceptionally well in the BPL and thus made it to the Pakistan national team. There were retaliation within the team but somehow he managed to stick in.

In New Zealand, he was referred to as the most difficult bowler to face y many of the kiwi players including Martin Guptill.

Amir took the attacking batsman and former captain of New Zealand b McCullum on the very first ball in an ODI. This shows how strong Mohammad Amir has become. There are a lot of changes which have been seen in Amir now.

The ball he bowled to McCullum was a pretty good one. It was a well-directed bouncer right near to the body of McCullum. The kiwi batsman is also known for his aggressive style of batting hence, he went out immediately to execute a pull shot.

The bounce bounced a bit too much for McCullum and as a result took the upper part of his bat and went to deep fine leg. Mohammad Irfan judged and took the catch very nicely. There was a breeze whirling around and yet he took a good running catch to his left.

Bouncer to Ahmad Shahzad reported by Waqar Younis

Pakistan’s former head coach Waqar Younis submitted his report to the PCB in which he wrote about all the reasons that why players re not performing and why the team is going low in the rankings. Waqar mentioned a specific incident about Ahmad Shahzad.

Waqar in his report wrote that after Ahmad Shahzad was struck in the head by a bouncer from Kiwi medium pacer Corey Anderson, the confidence of Ahmad completely shattered out and it never came back into Ahmad.

He also wrote that the only reason Ahmad is not performing in international game sis that he fears the ball now. His mind still holds the memories of that incident and as a result, there are dilemmas created in his head.

This incident happened in UAE where Pakistan was playing against New Zealand. Ahmad hit a beautiful hundred and was playing really well. But then all of a sudden he was tested with a nasty bouncer by Corey Anderson.

Ahmad wasn’t expecting this bouncer and he was too slow in moving his arms to hit a pull shot. The ball came in and hit him at the back of his head.

The impact blacked out everything for Ahmad. His bat fell onto the wickets and he was on the floor the very next second. The physio came in and helped him recover a bit. Ahmad was literally crying on his way out of the ground.

Waqar and other sports analyst who think that Ahmad after this incident has changed are true. Ahmad lost his touch after this blow and now is clearly seen struggling against international sides. He was to get rid of this nightmare and has to take a fresh start.

Wasim Akram match saving 257* VS Zimbabwe

In 1996, the Zimbabwean cricket team came to Pakistan on a scheduled tour. The tourist played three test games and right in the first one they almost took over the whole match but then Wasim Akram retaliation forced them to take a step back.

Zimbabwean batted first and scored 375 thanks to some quality innings from opener Grant Flower and spinner Paul Strang. Both the players stroked tons to their names and helped the team build up a strong total for Pakistan.

Pakistan faced a lot of problems while batting in their first innings and as a result they at one stage were 183 for the loss of 6 wickets. At that stage, the Zimbabweans were dominating the game but then the Pakistan captain Wasim Akram walked into the field.

Wasim changed everything with his blistering knock. H attacked the leg spinner Paul Strang and took plenty of runs against him. this is where Wasim turned the table. He attacked their best bowler and as a result, the other bowlers came into pressure.

Wasim first made a fifty runs partnership with wicket-keeper batsman Moin Khan and later he could up a huge one with off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq.

Wasim-Saqlain partnership was the major turn for Pakistan. Wasim hit 22 fours and 12 sixes in his innings. Wasim was excellent using his feet and as a result, he was always among wicket-takers. Wasim Akram might have made a lot of bowling records but this one innings from him gave a lot of batting stats to him as well. Wasim Akram undoubtedly was the major main for Pakistan.

Gayle funny stint last night in IPL

When there is Chris Gayle, there will be sixes, fours and a lot of humor. These are the trademarks of Gayle who has now become a T20 brand. Any 20 league is nothing without Chris Gayle as he has such a huge impact on the fans now.

These days Gayle is enjoying his schedule in India for the IPL. Last night his team Royal Challengers Bangalore won their first game despite Gayle not performing well enough. He was bowled out at the start of the show.

The ball hit his thigh pad and then changed its course towards the stumps and Gayle faces a very unlucky dismissal. But then he has again seen in action at the ending part the second innings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Eoin Morgan executed a pull shot which hit the bottom of his bat and the ball went to Gayle who was stationed at the square leg inside the circle. Gayle while fielding the ball fell to the ground and the ball after hitting his hands went straight to the leg side umpire Dharmasena.

After hitting him as well, it went further but by the time Gayle was on his feet and he fielded it and threw it back to the wicket-keeper.

Gayle then had a funny chat with Dharmasena gesturing him that he should have stopped the ball with his stomach. The crowd was entertained and so was RCB captain Virat Kohli who had a huge smile on his face watching his teammate Gayle having some fun in the center. The RCB won the game on a comprehensive note and they surely look a very strong unit in this year’s IPL.

Mustafizur bowls out AB and Watson

Young and impressive Mustafizur is part of the IPL and he has already made a name for himself after the first game. He ended up being in the defeated team yet his bowling figures remain impressive one. He remained the only Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler who did not get many runs.

Apart from Mustafizur, all the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers went for plenty by the hands of AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli. The two Royal Challengers Bangalore batsmen hit the ball hard and long throughout the first half of the first innings.

Mustafizur adapted to the batting conditions really well. he did not emit out much energy because he knew it will be a waste of it. he used his brain by giving out a low of slow balls and other varieties to save himself from being hit for a major number of runs like the other bowlers.

He picked up two vital wickets in the final spell. AB and Watson fell to him on consecutive balls. first, AB was caught by Morgan of Mustafizur. This was a beautifully disguised slow ball.

AB could not read it well enough and as a result, he edged it high in the air and Morgan had to move a lot when he came under the catch. At one point it looked as if he has lost it by overrunning it but then he caught it at the end. it was a really very well judged taken by the English T20 captain.

Watson remained the unlucky one as the ball hit the edge of his bat and went straight to the wicket-keeper. It was a full pitched delivery which was bowled outside the leg stump and Watson was in a try to flick it down to deep fine leg but played it too fine and was caught at the end.

Hasan Mohsin best all-round performance against Nepal

Hasan Mohsin is one of those names who have been raised in all Pakistan social media forums. His absence from those 5 names from the Under-19 category during the drafting for Pakistan cup has made Pakistan cricket fans angry.

Hasan was the best performer from Pakistan in the last Under -19 world cup. He batted well enough and also took wickets yet he was not taken by the PCB management who made the lists of players be taken in the five teams.

The real shame is that players who did not perform exceptionally well, but only have the influence have made it to the five teams.

Hasan Mohsin brilliance can be seen in this package in which he played a brilliant knock against Nepal followed by taking four wickets as well. He was awarded man of the match award in that game. in the Under-19 world cup, he scored 300 runs and took 11 wickets and hence it was a shame not to see him be listed in the Under-19 category today for Pakistan cup.

Hasan first batted as Pakistan went out to bat first. His first was an edgy one which went to the fine leg fence and after that, he middled everything that came his way. Hasan hit a series of fours and a couple of maximum ones.

He was absolutely perfect on both sides of the wickets. The way he placed himself on the crease to load those two sixes on the leg side showed how quickly he can read he line and length of the ball. In the bowling, he is a genuine swinger of the new ball. Hasan pitched the ball right near to the crease t generate maximum swing. This helped him take down 4 wickets as well.

Pakistan Cricket Board to Appoint New Head Coach For National Team in May

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan has said that the new selection committee would be appointed by next week while the new head coach of the national team would be selected by first week of May.

The PCB is on the lookout for a new head coach and to appoint new selectors after Waqar Younis stepped down after Pakistan’s dismal show in the Asia Cup and World T20 while the board sacked the entire selection committee headed by Haroon Rasheed.

The PCB has invited candidates to apply for the head coach position by April 25 after which a committee that also includes Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja will finalise the new coach.
Shahryar Khan however told PTI that the board had not yet decided whether to appoint a foreign coach or local one. But he dropped a hint that the board had already shortlisted a foreign and a local candidate.
“The new coach will be appointed by first week of May and Wasim is also in India for the IPL to discuss with candidates,” Shahryar said.

The names of former Test stalwarts Aaqib Javed, Moin Khan, Mohsin Khan and Mudassar Nazar are doing the rounds for the post of head coach while the board is said to be eyeing Tom Moody and Dean Jones as the best possible foreign candidates.

Moody is busy in the IPL while Jones recently coached the title winning Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League.

Shahryar said that the new selection committee would be named by late this week or next week as the board wanted the selectors to also watch the Pakistan Cup one-day tournament in Faisalabad starting next week.
He confirmed that Mohsin Khan had been offered the post of chief selector but he declined.
“Mohsin is more inclined towards coaching the national team,” he added.
The names of former Test spinner Iqbal Qasim, Moin and Mohsin are also being tipped to head the selection committee.

The PCB chief said the board would now make appointments after giving it proper thought as the national team had tough tours to England and Australia and there was a need to improve its rankings in all three formats.

Johnson football kick makes Jadeja run out

Former Australian pace bowler Mitchell Johnson has taken his retirement from international cricket but he is still a part of IPL. Last night he showed the world that there is plenty of cricket let in him with the way he bowled and made that stunning run out of R Jadeja.

Johnson bowled a short of length ball to Karthik who could not time it well enough on the leg side due to the pace on the ball. The ball hit the pitch and remained there. In the meantime, the batting pair decided to take a quick single.

This was always a risky move but the two went for it. Jadeja and Johnson went towards the batting end at the same time and when Johnson reached near the ball, Jadeja was right beside him running to reach the batting line.

At that point, the only choice left with Johnson was to kick the ball onto the stumps. There was no time left for him to pick the ball up and then throw it to the stumps. So he went for the only option and kicked the ball towards the stumps.

He was lucky that the ball hit the timber and when the LED inside the wickets flashed Jadeja was miles behind the line. He went straight towards the dressing room knowing that fact that he was out.

The infield umpire referred the case to the third umpire but Jadeja did not wait for the decision and went out. Later the third umpire confirmed the dismissal as well. This was some amazing cricket and football skills shown by the Australian. Glenn Maxwell looked pretty excited over this run out from his former teammate.

Afridi playing cricket near his village

Shahid Afridi is a cricket freak. He has played international cricket for almost 20 years and still he is part of the Pakistan T20 squad. Afridi has taken his retirement from the tests and Odis and now only focuses on T20 format.

He is one of those players who never miss out any chance of playing cricket anywhere. Shahid Afridi her is seen playing cricket near his native place. He is batting on a pitch made in the center of a jungle surrounded by mountains.

Afridi first was hit on his thigh. He did not pick the line and length of the ball and hence missed his big slog on the leg side.

The bowler tested him with the same line and length and this time Afridi was ready as ever. He went to his front foot and slammed the ball on the leg side. As the ball connected to the sweet spot of the ball, it went a long way.

Most of the people thought that it might get lost in the jungle as it went a long way deep into the woods but the fielder somehow brought it back.

After that, Afridi opened up and his second big shot was on the off side. this time, he cleared the covers area on the full. This was pitched up and Afridi knew where such balls should be dispatched and he did exactly that.Shahid Afridi has served Pakistan for almost 20 years in internal cricket. He doesn’t play tests and Odis anymore as he took his retirement from these two formats. But he still is a part of Pakistan t20 team and he is fit to play for some time in the future.

Sharjeel Khan Eyes ODI Spot

KARACHI: Opener Sharjeel Khan, who impressed with brisk knocks against New Zealand and Australia in the World T20, is looking to earn his place in Pakistan’s one-day squad by doing well in the upcoming Pentangular Cup.

The left-hander was probably one of the few who could hold their heads high after an embarrassing collective display in the World T20 which caused a major re-shuffle in the team management with head coach Waqar Younis, T20 skipper Shahid Afridi and the selection committee vacating their posts.

Sharjeel, who was dropped from the T20 team in September 2014, admitted that while the pressure of making a comeback was immense, he is gaining his confidence back.

“I’ve got the confidence back but it was difficult when I was making my comeback,” Sharjeel, who made 112 runs from four innings in the World T20, told The Express Tribune. “However, as I played more I became extremely comfortable and now I intend to get into the one-day side as well.”

The 27-year-old, who played impressive 47 and 30-run knocks against New Zealand and Australia in the World T20 respectively, feels he could have done even better.

“I could have done better in the World T20 but that is in the past now and my focus is on improving my batting, bowling and fielding,” he added. “We’ve got the Pentangular Cup coming up and that is a really good platform for me to make my case for a comeback in the 50-over format.”

Sharjeel’s performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he guided Islamabad United to the title and also scored the only century of the tournament, earned him his recall in the side and the Hyderabad-born thanked all those who helped him during that time.

“The PSL has been an amazing experience for me and for everyone who participated in it. I’m sure PSL will go a long way in helping youngsters like me do well,” he said. “I got to learn from the likes of Wasim Akram, Dean Jones, Shane Watson, Tauseef Ahmad and other renowned stars. This sort of experience enables you to think big and become a world-class player.”

Sharjeel Khan scored a 117 runs to lift Islamabad United to declared the Man of the Match

Sharjeel has played 11 T20Is for Pakistan, making 266 runs at an average of 24.18 with a half-century to his name while his strike-rate is 140. He has also featured in 11 ODIs for the Men in Green and scored 194 runs with a half-century on his debut.

‘Pakistan Cup’ one-day tournament to start in Faisalabad

Pakistan Cup, a five-team one-day tournament based on the draft system, is set to kick off on April 19 in Faisalabad and will include teams from the country’s four provinces and a Federal Capital side, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday.

Sarfraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan, Azhar Ali and Misbah-Ul-Haq will lead the sides from Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Federal Capital respectively.

The teams will be selected by the captain and the coach through a draft which will consist of 150 players.

Each team will be able to select a squad of 15.

The draft process was also adopted during the teams’ selection for the Pakistan Super League which was held earlier this year.

The PCB also announced that the match fees in this tournament will be doubled in comparison to a regular domestic one-day game.

The Pakistan Cup will be the second one-day format domestic tournament to be organized by the PCB this year, the National One-day cup being the first which was held in January and had 16 sides — both from departments and regions.

Umar Akmal grilled by Journalist

We all know about the Hyderabad guest house controversy in which Umar Akmal name was also involved. Umar Akmal denied his involvement in any part of that controversy, but the fact is that he was present at that guest house when the police made a raid.

The inside story of that whole incident was today once again told by a senior journalist. He works for the newspaper which broke this story. He said that despite Umar Akmal denied all the allegations but the fact is that he was part of that show.

When the newspapers broke this story this journalist got a call from the chief selector of the team and said that this was a wrong move by the newspaper as Umar Akmal was to be selected for the New Zealand tour.

Later Afridi too made a call back to the selection committee and asked them to give him Umar Akmal at any cost. Umar was facing a ban and yet he moved to New Zealand.

Another incident reported by the same journalist was told to him by NCA former bowling coach Aaqib Javed. He said that PCB brought a bowling machine which was quite expensive, but then it started malfunctioning and used to get stuck a lot.

When Aaqib acquired the reason he was told that this machine is not the issues, the issue is with the software which is pirated as the board did not allow to get the genuine software just because it was a bit expensive. They were using a cheap pirated software on a genuine machine. The people sitting in PCB are not cricket literate and as a result, the cricket standard is declining fast in Pakistan.

Bravo nailing down stumps of Maxwell & Miller

Dwayne Bravo in his first IPL game for the newly added franchise Gujarat Kings has taken four wickets and also has passed getting 300 wickets in T20 format. He now has the most number of wickets in this format throughout the world.

The best of his four wickets were those of Maxwell and Miller. The reason is that these two are known as to be the best of the hitters in the business these days and when they get going then nobody can stop their wrath.

Maxwell was the first ball to go, Bravo first jolted the roots of Maxwell with a stinger. A short ball that came out of nowhere and Maxwell did really good to avoid playing this one.

He let it go untouched so that he does not take any risk against this good one from Bravo. On the next ball, Bravo deceived Maxwell. Maxwell went back and gave himself some room hoping that it would be a slow ball from Bravo.

Bravo, on the other hand, was ready to bowl a Yorker and he bowled a perfect one. This one had the perfect execution. The ball landed right in front of the stumps and Maxwell tried hit cover the ball but the outer edge took it straight to middle stump. Maxwell was a gone on this one.

Next one was the wicket of Miller and he fell on a cunning slow ball. Bravo took the pace out on this one and it looped in the air and Miller went early to his shot and realized late that he was deceived by Bravo. The ball went in between the narrow gap between bat and pad and hit the middle stump. Bravo was thrilled and so was his team. He enjoyed a bit of champion dance with R Jadeja this time.

Pakistan India thrilling finish in Australia

Back in the late 90s when Pakistan had a strong unit, they used to win a lot of games against India. Now things have changed and Pakistan clearly struggles against team India and in the recent past. They have not won any game against them.

This here is one of the most astonishing wins Pakistan ever had against their arch rivals India. It was a low scoring game and Pakistan nailed it down on the final ball of the match.

This match was played in Australia and India batted first. Pakistani bowlers did a great job and knocked out team India for just 195 runs on the board. It was an easy total but the Pakistan batting line also crumbled.

Pakistan had 8 wickets down when Waqar entered the ground. He and Saqlain then hit a wonderful partnership which gave Pakistan the hope of getting closer to the total.

It all went down to the final ball of the game. The scores were level and Pakistan needed one run to win the match. Prasad the bowler bowled a decent over and had just one ball to save and tie up the match.

Prasad came charging in to bowl the final ball but he went for a mankind. Waqar was pretty clever that he did not leave his crease and hence saved himself from getting out.  Prasad had to go back to his bowling mark again.

He came back and bowled a good short delivery. Saqlain could not connect it from the middle of his bat and the ball went to the wicket-keeper. Waqar already started running towards the batting end and Saqlain after looking a them left his end too. The throw from the fielder missed the stumps and Saqlain then completed the winning run.

Warner and Sharma sledging and fighting

In the modern cricket, we have noticed that aggressiveness not matters a lot and every player wants to dominate in this field. In the old days, only he bowlers were known to be aggressive one but not anymore.

Now every player no matter he bowls or bat comes out with an aggressive frame of mind. This aggressiveness hence causes a lot of verbal wars between players. One such moment came when Australian opener David Warner had a verbal argument with Indian opener Rohit Sharma.

This happened in an ODI game in which India was batting. Sharma stroked the ball to Warner who was stationed at the edge of the circle at mid-off.

Sharma was interested in a single but his partner Suresh Raina sent him back. Warner in the meantime picked up the ball and threw it casually towards the stumps. The ball hit the pad of Sharma and went to an empty place towards the third man zone.

Sharma took a single and Warner was surprised by his decision. Warner could not resist himself and went near to Sharma as the over completed and acquired about the single.

Sharma and Warner then started a debate and then the world saw then sledging each other. Warner was pretty discriminating to Sharma saying speak English to him. The two umpires had to intervene and Raina came between the two players. The matter was later reported to the match referee who fined both the players. Warner was penalized more than Sharma because of his remarks. Warner, on the other hand, did his best to answer back Sharma for what he was saying.

Yasir Shah first appearance after ban

Yasir Shah is back. The leg spinner has completed his ban and he was onto the bowling nets immediately after the lifting of the ban. Yasir was seen bowling in the nets with young spinners in the talent hunt camp for young spinners.

Yasir Shah was facing a three months ban by the ICC after his dope test resulted positive at the start of this year. Yasir Shah B sample resulted positive and as a result, he had to face a ban. The earlier thoughts were a period stretching to 4 to 5 years in exile from all forms of cricket.

But here the OCB did a really good job. They fought hard in the ICC over Yasir Shah and as a result, they managed to get him a ban of just 3 months which is nothing as compared to 5 years one.

Yasir mistakenly took his wife’s blood pressure medicine. Yasir’s whole family is suffering from blood pressure issues and hence it be camera valid medical case. Still it fought hard and logically by the PCB in Dubai.

This all helped Yasir Shah who himself did not hide anything from the PCB and ICC. His truthfulness urged the ICC to take a soft action against him.

This is the reason that he was penalized with a short term ban. Yasir was seen bowling with Mohammad Asghar. There were also some new kids seen in the block who are there to show their talent and PCB is definitely interested in getting them in. These talent hunting camps will give PCB a lot of young talent whom they can groom for batting and bowling departments of cricket.

Shahid Afridi 2 best catches

Shahid Afridi in his international career has taken a lot of catches but the two here remains the best of them. Afridi is a brilliant fielder at all positions and does not fear to go after the ball. These catches show his commitment level in the field.

The first catch is from an ODI game played between Pakistan and England. Afridi was stationed on the leg side near the fence. It was the final over of the game and England have required 6 runs. Saqlain Mushtaq was bowling against Marcus Trescothick who was on 136.

Trescothick tried a slog sweep against Saqlain which did not come from the middle of the bat. The ball went aerial down towards the leg side and Afridi along with Malik went after the catch.

Both Afridi and Malik went under the ball at the same time and it has Afridi who judged the ball quickly and caught it. But at the same time Malik came from the side and despite putting every effort to avoid a collision, Malik still collided with Afridi.

The two went down but the good thing as that Afridi did not let the ball go. The catch was neatly taken and Trescothick had to leave the field. Malik sustained an injury after this collision.

The second catch is the famous one from world t20 2009 in which Afridi stunned everyone with his take. The game was played against New Zealand and Styris tried to hit a boundary against Umar Gul.The ball hit the upper part of his bat and went aerial towards the empty long on fence. Afridi started running behind it from inside the circle and caught it over his left just near the line. Afridi with this catch absolutely thrilled the audience. It was his best take.

Surprising 6 Runs of Cricket History Amazes People

Fans of cricket were amused with smallest six of cricket history in the match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Rashid Latif was batting and get 6 runs on one ball when the ball had went just few yards away from him and the wicket keeper. However, the score books will write a 6 against his name according to the rules.

One run was scored by Rashid Latif and to add five more to make six, umpire gave a plenty of five runs to the Sri Lanka Team. The ball had hit the helmet on the ground lying behind the wicket keeper. According to the cricket rules, it was out of law that ball hits anything which has kept by the fielding side. Any such incident in the cricket history has treated as a plenty to the bowling team.

It also becomes the addition as smallest six in the history of cricket score books. Wicket keeper batsman of Pakistan owns the record for ever and many be will not be broken again. Similarly Sri Lanka also becomes the part of record in cricket history as fielding side. However, the Sri Lankan bowler was in a loss that he had to suffer 6 runs on a ball which he bowled really well.

Such incident in Pakistan vs Sri Lanka math was taking place for the second time in the cricket history. However, in the earlier event, it was not six runs but 9 runs on one ball. It was during a teats match when a Sri Lankan wicket keeper was not able to collect the ball cleanly. The ball hit the helmet and went out of boundary. The batting side had given nine runs in total.

Mostly it’s not six runs but five runs in the minimum to get by the batting side. The fans in favor of Sri Lanka were surprised that their team was given punishment. However, it was mistake of their wicket keeper. Cricket history of record books has many such surprising events to surprises fans.

Shahid Afridi Vs Gayle in Bouncy Ball Challenge

Shahid Afridi and West Indies all-rounder Chris Gayle came face to face in the bouncy ball challenge competition. Both are known the best all-rounders of present time and famous for hitting sixes. The competition also included many other dashing cricketers of Twenty20 format as well.

Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle both were very much confident of winning the competition. Gayle was the first one to try his luck with the bat and ball. Having all the confidence and experience of hitting long sixes, the West Indies all-rounder dropped the ball after bouncing only six times. It was a game of fun and enjoyment between the players only.

After Chris Gayle of West Indies, it was Pakistani all-rounder to show his expertise. Shahid Afridi was al.so very much confident with the bat. He started with passion to do more than Gale. However, Afridi also dropped the ball exactly after six times. Both all-rounders were equal on the score and watching others to try their luck.

After Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle had tried their expertise, it was another famous cricketer from West Indies to show his class. Chanderpal, the star middle order batsman started bouncing the ball and surprised everyone with his control and expertise. He crossed both stars but was not able to go much beyond them.

However, he won the competition with bouncing the ball for seven times and the most. No other player from West Indies, Pakistan or any other country was even able to pass Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle.

Ahmad Shahzad irked over extra criticism

Pakistan opening batsman in ODI and t20 cricket Ahmad Shahzad is not happy at the higher levels of criticism he is facing from the media and the general public. Ahmad was talking to the local media outside the Wasim Akram foundation.

Ahmad praised the efforts of Wasim Akram first, saying that he and his wife are doing a wonderful job for the betterment of needy females and children. He said that he feels happy to be a part of this organization.

Ahmad then talked about cricket, saying that he has been facing a lot of criticism in the past few months. He said that there is a limit to everything. He said that people should know that fact that his own patience has a limit.

He said that in the electronic and social media he has been thrown a lot of remarks and this criticism has not been answered by him. He said he never went to the media once to reply back to the people who are blaming him for the defeats.

Ahmad said that he has always played for Pakistan. He said that he owns nothing to Pakistan and all the time he always had his mind towards playing for Pakistan. He said that he believes in answering the critics with the bat.

This is the reason that he never went out to media, he believes that his bat is the best way to answer back at the critics. Ahmad said that at this moment the team needs the support of the people and hence he would ask the fans to just back up their players.

Afridi explains his bowling methodology

Shahid Afridi is a big name in international cricket and especially in Pakistan cricket. He is a superstar who has millions of fans. Afridi as a matter of fact is one of the most liked cricketers in Pakistan. The reasons are his services to Pakistan cricket.

Afridi played a few test matches and then got retired from the game. The longer version of the game never suited him and hence he left his pace for some their deserving player.

After that, he concentrated more on ODI and T20 cricket. Afridi left the ODI cricket after the 2015 World Cup. He and Misbah retired after the mega event and a huge vacuum was created with this which is still causing Pakistan problems.

Afridi now only plays T20 cricket. He is now seen as a leg spinner who can bat. Here in this footage, we can see Afridi explain the art of spin and how the spinner grips the ball before bowling. He first showed how former Pakistani off-spinner Arshad Khan used to bowl.

Arshad and Sri Lankan veteran off-spinner Muralitharan used to grip the ball same way. The seam was more in a horizontal position and yet Multi used to spin the ball miles as compared to Arshad Khan.

Afridi then showed the grip and placed his fingers on the seam to elaborate how he spins the ball. Afridi told that to bowl a drifter. He makes the shiny part of the ball inside towards the palm of his hand. He said that this makes the ball come in with the angle. The shiny part gives the inward movement to the ball while bowling a drifter and hence the ball moves in towards the batsman with the angle of the arm. Afridi bowls on of the best drifters in the world. This is his technique of doing it.

Hilarious drop catch by Azhar Ali

Pakistan’s number 3 in test matches Azhar Ali is a wonderful batsman and really good fielder, but like every other player, he too faced some embarrassing moments. One of those moments was his drop catch against English batsman Ian Bell during a test match.

It was a home series for Pakistan so this test match was played in the UAE. Ian Bell was batting while Pakistani captain Misbah operating with left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar. There were a lot of close fielders present near the batsman and Azhar Ali was one of them.

He was standing close to the pitch on the offside. Bell tried to break the shackles when he advanced down he track against Babar and hit him sweetly on the off side. the ball hit the middle of the bat but went straight into Azhar Ali.

Azhar tried to move away from the impact of the ball but failed and the ball hit him on the thigh and again went aerial to the right of Azhar. Azhar then heard screams of catching it from the other fielders and got confused.

He was absolutely baffled and made some really funny moves and at the end, he just put his hands up hoping that the ball will land into his hands. No other fielder tried to give him the exact location of the ball.

It was to his right and had he known it there were chances that he could have grabbed it up. Ultimately the ball fell to the ground. After that, there were just laughs and more laughs from Misbah and other fielders. Commentators Michael Atherton and Ian Botham enjoyed the drop as well. These were some absolutely hilarious scenes.

Stokes still feeling pain of the final over

English all-rounder Ben stokes in his latest interview to a channel said that the memories of that final over against West Indies are still in his mind. He is trying to cope with them, but it would take him time and he is ready to give it.

It was a miscalculation on behalf of the English captain Eoin Morgan who gave the last over to Stokes who already had bowled just one over before the final call. Jordan and Willey bowled well and one of the should have been given the last over.

Stokes had an average pace and as his body was not opened up much so there was always a chance of getting him hit for plenty of runs. This is unfortunately what happened.

Carlos Brathwaite hit him for 4 big sixes on the first 4 balls and got the 19 runs required in the love to win the finals. Stokes said that obviously it was very much disappointing and he still feels it deep inside his heart.

He said that he tried his best to stop the flow of runs but remained the unlucky one. Stokes also said that he and his team were really down after the finals. But then they gave shoulders to each other and became support for each other.

Stokes said that playing world cup and the final as a professional cricketer was always his dream and he was more than happy that he played for England in the world cup. Stokes said that the results may have been disappointing one, but the overall journey was fantastic.England lost just twice in the World t20 and both times their opponents were the West Indians. Stokes praised the efforts of the men from the Caribbean. He said that England will come back strong in their future contests.

Professor tells everything about fitness problem in WT20

Professor Muhammad Haffez has told everything regarding his fitness problem during Wt20 match. Muhammad Haffez was unfit just before a very important match in the world cup tournament. Pakistan team had lost the important match and was ruled out of the tournament also.

There were many gossips that professor was not unfit actually in the match. He was just pretending to be unfit in the Wt20 match. Performance of Muhammad Haffez was under serious question the last cricket world cup. Pakistan team came out of the event because of playing very bad.

Not only professor was able to play well in the tournament. Every leading player in the Pakistan cricket team was not able to perform well in WT20. Muhammad Hafeez came to a TV program to clarify in front of the nation. He told all the truth about his fitness problems. Hafeez also discussed many other things in the program.

Muhammad Haffez has become very important batsman in the Pakistan cricket team. His position has made him back bone of middle order batting of Pakistan. Whenever Pakistan team needed professor, he has performed and won the match for Pakistan. However, in WT20 matches he was not able to perform as expected at a very crucial time.

Haffez talking in the program answered every question which was creating doubts about him during WT20 matches. Muhammad Hafeez also told about the grouping issue in the world Cup tournament. Professor assured the nation that he will never do anything which becomes shameful for team and country.

Dottin breathtaking run out against New Zealand

If the men are said to be quick in the cricket fields, then surely the women are also not far behind them. This run out from the West Indian batsman Dottin shows the skill set of the West Indian female cricketers.

West Indies players had all the issues with their board before coming to India for the World t20 2016. The board was not facilitating its own players. But still all these problems united both the men and women’s cricket teams.

Not only this but they won the cups as well. This run out shows the commitment of the female West Indian female players. Dottin was the fielder here. In this game against New Zealand, she was fielding at the point.

The batsman hit a back foot shot towards the right of her. As it was played on the back foot by the batsman so Dottin was an extra bit of time. Dottin rushed towards the ball picked it up with his right hand and immediately threw it towards the stumps at the bowling end.

All this took her just a glimpse of a second and the ball went on to hit the stumps. It was a very close call and as a result, the infield umpire referred it to the third umpire. After watching a few replays the third umpire gave that out.

The West Indian captain Jacobs was pretty certain before the decision was made that Dottin has got her an important wicket. This commitment in the field and then the batting from the top order of the West Indies guided them to leading the cup in the finals.

Hafeez latest interview clarifies all the issues

Mohammad Hafeez has once again come down to a TV channel and this time he gave a detailed interview about various things. He clarified all the misconceptions about the team and their performances in the Asia cup and world T20.

Hafeez said that firs thing first, there is no grouping in the team. He said that all the players had an average form in the two events and as a result Pakistan lost one game after the other. Hence, such performances don’t allow any team to get into the grouping fuss.

He said that grouping is only done when the team wins most of the games and the performances are far better than what Pakistani players made. Hafeez said that public should not listen to such fake news.

Second he addressed his injury news. Hafeez said that he listened to media reporting that he faked his injury and did not play crucial games. Hafeez bashed the media saying that his injury was real and he did not fake it.

Hafeez clarified that his injury happened in the game against India and it was a severe one hence he had to rest out for the next two games. He said that Wahab has also been targeted with the same allegations. He has his medical reports with him.

Hafeez also said that he blames only himself for the bad performance. He said he will not blame any batsman or bowler for the loss but himself. He said he could have done a lot better than this and he tried for it. he was disappointed that the results did not come in the favor of Pakistan.

Amir taking wickets of Misbah, Afridi, and Hafeez

Mohammad Amir when made his comeback to the domestic cricket of Pakistan he immediately took control of the things. He was in full form and rhythm and as a result took a lot of wickets in the domestic bowling.

But he needed a big platform where he could gather the attention of the international cricketers and that platform was given to him by the BPL. He bowled against international cricketers and that experience boosted his confidence sky high.

Amir also took the wickets of some top Pakistan players like Misbah, Afridi, and Hafeez. He first challenged Misbah in a game where Misbah was leading the charge with 61 runs. Amir bowled a perfect Yorker to Misbah and knocked out his off stump.

The ball hit the bottom of the off stump and Misbah could not put his bat down in time. Afridi got another Jaffa. This time, it was a cutter that puts Afridi in a half. The ball was pitched on the leg stump and from there it moved away and passed the bat of Afridi.

The ball then hits the top of off stump and Afridi praised the ball with his head going up and down. Hafeez was given another beautiful ball. It was another seeming ball that hit the off stump line and then moved away.Hafeez did manage to read the line and length of the ball and as a result, he moved his bat away and tried to let it pass untouched but the ball nicked the edge of the bat and get into his hands of the wicket-keeper.

Sangakkara makes a fool out of Sehwag

Kumar Sangakkara and Virendar Sehwag need no introduction to anyone who has watched and knew about cricket. The two are batting genius as both are retired from the game still people want them to get back into their respective sides.

Sangakkara we all know was one of the best left hand batsmen in the history of the game. He was also a pretty clever competitor when it comes to wicket keeping. Sangakkara was absolutely brilliant with the gloves as well.

He we see him taking Sehwag out completely off guard. The veteran Indian opener absolutely had no idea what happened to him. Sangakkara played a gamble and it paid him with fortunes, Sehwag’s wicket was priceless to be exact.

This ODI game was played in India and Sehwag was batting on 46. He was playing a typical knock which had plenty of boundaries in it. Sehwag steered a short of length ball outside the off stump towards the deep third man.

Sehwag then started jogging towards the other end. The fielder took the ball and threw it back to Sangakkara behind the wickets. Sangakkara caught the ball and then he just turned over and threw the ball towards the stumps nailed at the non-striker’s end.

Sangakkara was blind about the exact position of Sehwag as he had his back towards him. It was a gamble played by Sangakkara,  the ball hit the stumps and knocked them out. Sehwag looked surprised on the direct throw and then the appeal.

The Sri Lankan team shouted for a run out appeal. The infield umpire referred it to the third umpire and when the replays were seen, Sehwag was a couple of inches short when the throw dislodged the bails and as a result he was referred as out.

Unseen Bowling Spells of Wasim Akram

A renown Australia website has made a short clip of the legendary Wasim Akram bowling in Australia. These are old footages when Wasim was quite young and really expressive with his pace and skills. He was indeed a special gift to international cricket.

Wasim Akram was an excellent bowler on the dead pitches of the subcontinent and when he used to travel to places like Australia and New Zealand, he was almost close to unplayable in most of the times. He was one of the very best in this business of fast bowling.

Wasim was special with the new and old ball both. He was excellent with the swing and was one of the inventors of the reverse swing. He learnt the art from his mentor Imran Khan. Imran transformed Wasim into a lethal machine.

Wasim had everything special about him. Here we see him rattled the stumps of batters from toughest oppositions like Australia, England and West Indies. All these wickets shown in this clip are taken on the pitches of Australia.

Wasim is bowling all sorts of deliveries and taking wickets on them. He bowled Yorkers and short pitch deliveries and because of his lethal pace, he was always going for the bullseye. Wasim Akram is one of those limited names from international cricket who made it to the hall of the game of international cricket.

Wasim Akram with his age modified his bowling action, pace and run up. Wasim despite losing his high pace with age still was pretty clever to get wickets. He was constant with his line and length and that is what gave him a good cluster of wickets in his final years of international cricket.

Afridi Showers Rain of Giant Sixes in Street Cricket

It was one of several games of street cricket when Afridi had showered rain of Giant Sixes. The Pakistani all-rounder was always famous for hitting big sixes even before he had come into the Pakistan team. However, ability to hit sixes did not brought him into the national team.

It was his first match for Pakistan played against Sri Lanka in which he become famous for hitting giant sixes. Shahid Afridi also scored the world fastest century in that match as well. The fastest century of the world was scored by Afridi in only 37 balls. Later he also scored the fastest ton in test cricket as well.

The record of fastest fifty was also bagged by this giant sixes hitter. Howler, Yuvraj Singh of India later broke it with a difference of only one ball. Recently a Kiwi batsman has also scored the fastest fifty in ODI matches in similar number of balls. However, leaving them all on one side, the class of Shahid Afridi cannot be matched with anyone.

Shahid Afridi has hit more giant sixes in the cricket than any other batsman of the world. The Pakistani all-rounder also holds the record of hitting most sixes in a match. Afridi has started a new tradition in the game of cricket. When he has come in the Pakistan team, cricket used to be a very slow game. He started playing quick and fast in every format of the game.

Players like Shahid Afridi are born in centuries and are remembered for long. Shahid has done a lot for Pakistan cricket and still continues. His giant sixes are life of any cricket fan in the world.

Sohail Tanvir bowling to Razzaq, Final over SLPL

Sohail Tanvir in this game had to save 15 runs in the last over of the match but his biggest problem was that his former teammate Abdul Razzaq was on strike and we all know what Razzaq is capable of with the bat.

Sohail was hit for a boundary on the first ball and he was into the pressure zone immediately. He bowled a short of length ball to Razzaq outside the off stump and presented  perfectly hitting opportunity to him which Razzaq accepted by belting the ball over point for a four.

Sohail then made a good comeback. He only gave 4 singles on the next four balls. Both Razzaq and his partner failed to get a boundary. Razzaq was even given a full toss on the leg side but he could not hit it from the middle of his bat.

His partner was also not picking up the pace variations of Sohail Tanvir. At the end came he final ball. Razzaq needed 6 runs to level the game and take it to the super over.

Once again Sohail was under pressure and he even give a pretty loose ball to Razzaq. Another juicy full toss which should have been dispatched for a six but Razzaq only got four runs on it.

This is the reason Razzaq now does not feature more I Pakistan team. He has lost his charisma with the bat and ball due to age and fitness and he should now not complain about his drop out from the national squad. He is now of no use in international cricket as a player.

Razzaq Blames Waqar for Team Problems

Abdul Razzaq has still not forgotten Waqar Younis and still thinks that he was the sole reason that he now does not play international cricket more. Razzaq might have to look about his fitness and his performances in those times when he was dropped.

Razzaq talking on a TV show said that he feels the root cause of the problems the Pakistan team is facing is Waqar Younis. He said that Waqar’s coaching mechanism has many flaws and as a result he is not delivering as per the expectations of the board and cricket fans.

Razzaq said that Waqar does not like seniors much. He always wants young blood in the team whom he can put his authority upon. The seniors  always axed out when he is the head coach. Here surely he was pointing out to his case.

Razzaq put all the blame on Waqar and did not say much about the PCB. He was more than happy to feel that PCB was doing the services right. The reason was that Razzaq mentioned that if PCB offers him any coaching job at any level in the future then he will definitely go for it.

Razzaq also mentioned that because of Waqar the atmosphere of the dressing room is always pretty much tensed and players don’t feel comfortable in going to him or talking to him much other than the game plan.

Now how come Razzaq would have said anything about PCB. Waqar has always been a soft target and hence Razzaq went for it. Also, he still feels that he was put to rest from cricket by Waqar which in fact is a wrong thinking because Razzaq’s own performances were so dismal that he was dropped from the team and he never made it back.

Dhoni bowling in net to Virat Kohli

Indian captain MS Dhoni is one of the best captains in international cricket. Dhoni is a man of principles and with the backing of the BCCi, he became the most influential persons in Indian cricket. But Dhoni did not misuse his authorities and gave India major wins.

Dhoni himself is a batsman and we often don’t see him bowling in international games. But he has bowled in test matches and Odis. Dhoni never bowled in a T20 game and we know that the shortest format always has plenty of bowling options.

Dhoni has bowed in 7 innings in his test career while in Odis he has bowled twice and taken a wicket as well. This is the only wicket for Dhoni in his international career as he remained wicketless in the longer version of the game.

Dhoni, however, is seen bowling a lot of times in the nets. He is not that much regular as a bowler in the nets like the official Indian bowlers yet he sometimes is seen opening up his arms in the practice session.

These footages are from a practice session in which we see Dhoni bowling to Virat Kohli. With an average pace, Dhoni runs in and bowls his medium fast deliveries. Kohli was mostly blocking the balls and did not go for any big shots.

MS Dhoni doesn’t need to bowl in international cricket because he has made a pool of bowlers for himself in the team India. Dhoni always utilizes the likes of Raina, Kohli, and Yuvraj as his part-time options and they have done a great job for him in all the formats.

Hafeez hints controversy in his latest interview

Mohammad Hafeez is not happy about one thing and that is all the allegations about his faking injury during the world t20. Hafeez has denied all the allegations but today he said that he will talk openly about this case in the near future.

Hafeez today while talking to the media said that he is an honest man and has always spoken the truth and will speak the truth in the near future when he will give a detailed account of his injury. Hafeez is definitely ready to knock out someone or something.

As per the sources, Hafeez is not happy that the team management thought that he faked his injury during the world t20 but then at the same time interesting point is that both Waqar and Intikhab Alma did not mention anything in their reports about his injury.

So there are chances that it might be something else Hafeez wants to talk about. Today he first congratulated the young wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmad for getting the role of the skipper of T20 team.  He said it is a good decision made by the PCB management.

Hafeez also said that people should not think about any grouping in the team. He said that the team did not play well enough and hence lost most of the games but the defeat certainly has nothing to do with this any grouping. Hafeez also said that he takes the blame for the poor performance as he should have batted more reasonably in the two tournaments. He said that he will not play the blame game and can only say about his own deeds.

Powerful hitting of Abdul Razzaq against England

Powerful hitting of Abdul Razzaq at Nottingham cricket ground against England reminds many fans of him. Memories of Pakistani most successful all-rounder are still very light and bright. Many cricket fans of Pakistan still want Razzaq back into the Pakistan team.

However, to play in the cricket master league in Dubai last year, Pakistani all-rounder has resigned. That means, Pakistani cricket fans will not see Abdul Razzaq batting or bowling in the national colors. He has done a lot for the Pakistani team. Razzaq had taken out the Pakistani team out of trouble many times in crucial matches.

Abdul Razzaq has also ways known as a match winner for his team. Leaving the Pakistan team on one side, the all-rounder has played many brilliant games for league cricket as well. His class was once again witnessed at Dubai last year. He was one of those players in Dubai Masters league who had played brilliantly.

A lot of cricket was still left in Abdul Razzaq when he had resigned from the international cricket. The all-rounder had resigned from international cricket when has was not left with any hope to play again for Pakistan team. He waited very long to get the eye of selectors but no one thought of him. Cricket talent in Pakistan has been getting wasted in similar way.

A lot of cricket talent in Pakistan has been wasted by the selectors. The selectors in Pakistan are getting wasted as this great all-rounder of the past has suffered badly. Abdul Razzaq become victim of politics in cricket board in Pakistan which has destroyed carrier of many players.

Darren Sammy gets a huge crowd welcomes him

It was expected and it happened, when Darren Sammy landed at the Saint Lucia airport there were hundreds of people from all age groups present outside the airport to welcome him and teammate Charles.

Sammy came outside the airport and immediately he was surrounded by a huge crowd. The music was played and what else could have been played other than Bravo’s champion song. The crowd wanted Sammy to dance he did.

Sammy was in the middle while the people were gathered around him with both his hands opening up and closing down with the beat of the song. West Indies was celebrating the champion dance. The party did not end here.

Sammy and Charles then took the road in the form of a caravan. There are a lot of vehicles present at the front and tail of their opened van. Sammy and Charles were standing at the back with the trophy held by Charles, who was showing it to the people.

A lot of the public was gathered on both sides of the road just to watch the celebrations, both the national heroes and the cup. Sammy then jumped off the van and went to meet the public. He thrilled everyone present near him.

There were selfies taken. The music was once again played with the champions on and dance hitting the airs of Saint Lucia. This was carnival time for West and especially Saint Lucia from where the captain belonged.Sammy after spending a few days in his hometown will then head back to the subcontinent to play the IPL in India. The point has been made that T20 cricket is nothing if we take out West Indian players from the format. They are the reason that such leagues have become a success.

Misbah hitting 16 runs in Afridi over, PSL

Misbah and Afridi have their own influences and legacies in international and domestic cricket in Pakistan. The two greats led two different teams in PSL. Misbah captained Islamabad United while Afridi led the Peshawar Zalmi.

Cricket fans were eager to see the two going against each other and when the moment comes, Misbah seized it completely. He took Afridi for 16 runs in the first meet up. Misbah gathered two sixes and a four in that over.

The first mega hit came on the very first ball of the over. It was leg spinner which Misbah played straight over long on. He just moved a few feet back from his original position and hit it from the middle of his bat.

Afridi then made a come back in the next two balls. the first one went to the point fielder while on the second one he completely deceived Misbah who could have lost his wicket had the ball not spun away from the stumps.

The fourth ball of the over was once again a slower one through the air and this time, Misbah judged it perfectly and timed it sweetly over the mid-wicket fence for the second six of the over. This was even bigger than the first one.

The final hit of the over was a four that was masterly placed in the tiny little gap between the short third man and point fielder by Misbah. The ball raced through the green outfield and went to the fence in no time.As Misbah blocked the last ball of the over, Afridi clapped for his former teammate and praised his batting genius. Misbah did not take any risk on the last ball. Already he took 16 runs from the over hence he decided not to go for more.

Shoaib’s brutalizing 94 mph stinging Yorker

Shoaib Akhtar remains one of the fastest bowlers in the history of cricket. he holds the record of breaking the 100 mph bowling barrier twice. No one part of him ever touched the 100 mph speed limit with the ball.

The best thing about Shoaib was that not only he had pace but the accuracy and variations were also there. This all made him into a wicket taking bowler who could come at any stage of the game and gives Pakistan a cluster of wickets.

In 2005, he was one the reasons Pakistan had a test series win over England. Shoaib was the leading wicket-taker in that series claiming 17 English scalps. Captain Inzamam was the leading run scorer from the series.

It was the same series in which Shoaib bowled his famous 94 mph Yorker to English off-spinner Ashley Giles. Giles knew it was coming and still failed to coup with this ball.

Shoaib first bounced him with a short pitch and after that the who world including Giles knew what will be his next ball but it was so much quick through the air and the accuracy of it made it impossible for Giles to play at it.

Any batsman would have lost his timber on this one. It was right up there and it went under the bat in a flash. Giles was on the move to save his feet and he succeeded I saving his feet but then had to sacrifice his middle and leg stump. it was one brutal ball. It was bowled at a pace of 94 mph and this ball made Shoaib famous a lot. He was still a popular figure before this ball.

Afridi magnificent hitting but cruel runout

Shahid Afridi might have given a lot of wickets to Pakistan and at the same time, he has given his to other teams as well. Here is one such moment when he got out in Australia courtesy to a very controversial decision by the third umpire.

Afridi came into bat and as Pakistan was chasing a stiff total and with six wickets down Afridi was the only hope for Pakistan. Afridi started his innings with a big six over long off. The intentions from him were pretty clear.

He was right on the money on this hit. Hodge gave Afridi a floated leg spinner and Afridi just hit it as straight as possible. It was a clean hit that came from the middle of his bat. the fielder could only watch it going over his head.

The next boundary was on the leg side from Afridi. This time, he swept the ball on the leg side against Lehman and collected four runs. Afridi third major hit was another six and the time he went down the track and hit Hodge over long on.

But after all, this he got run out. Afridi placed the ball down to deep third man and went for a double. Lee picked up the ball and immediately threw it back to the wicketkeeper Gilchrist. Afridi was sliding his bat and Gilchrist hit the wickets with his hands.

Now it was a close call. The replays showed that Afridi was just in by a frame and hence it made a very dubious case. Now here the benefit of the doubt should have been given to Afridi but it was denied and Afridi was given out which was pretty much irrational from the third umpire.

Sarfraz Ahmad interview after being made T20 captain

"This is the biggest day of my career, I would like to thank All Mighty for captaincy," Sarfraz Ahmed

ISLAMABAD: Wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed has replaced Shahid Afridi as captain of Pakistan’s Twenty20 team.

Afridi quit as captain after Pakistan lost three of its four group matches at the World Twenty20 tournament in India, but said he wanted to continue playing the shortest format of international cricket.

“I spoke to Sarfraz this morning and conveyed to him that he was our natural choice for this position,” PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said in a statement Tuesday.

“His appointment is open-ended. I wish him good luck in his new role.”

Ahmed, 28, played in all the four World Twenty20 matches, but batted lower down the order throughout the tournament despite having a good strike rate of 120.24 in 21 Twenty20 internationals.

Ahmed led Quetta Gladiators in Pakistan’s first professional domestic Twenty20 league in February before losing to the Misbah-ul-Haq-led Islamabad United in the final.

Pakistan is likely to play only three T20 internationals in the remainder of 2016, one against England and two against the world champion West Indies. Former Test captain Rashid Latif doesn’t think that’s enough to properly assess Ahmed’s ability as captain.

“The decision to appoint Ahmed is no more than damage control of PCB,” Latif told The Associated Press.

“The cricket board is trying to put behind what happened at the World Twenty20 where we could win only one group match against Bangladesh.”

Latif said the PCB should also replace ODI captain Azhar Ali and “bring in Sarfraz” so that the wicketkeeper-batsman could get more experience as a skipper in the international arena.

“Making him captain for only Twenty20 is not enough,” Latif said.

After being appointed as the captain of the Pakistan T20 side, Sarfraz Ahmed thanked the skippers he played under since his international career kicked off in 2007.

The wicket-keeper played during the captaincy tenures of Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi and Misbah-ul-Haq.

“I have learnt a lot from both Afridi and Misbah,” said Sarfraz while addressing reporters in Karachi on Tuesday.

“Younis used to field in the slips right beside me and has always helped me,” he added.

Accepting the challenges he is set to face amid the controversy surrounding Pakistan’s cricket setup, Sarfraz remained hopeful that the PCB will assist him.

“I’ll try to give my input to the board as Pakistan’s captain while at the same time i’ll also respect the policies of the board,” he said.

“I’ll try to apply what I learnt in my 10-year long career,” added the 28-year-old.

Bishop and Lloyd filmed during last world t20 over

Ian Bishop and David Lloyd were the two commentators who were sitting behind the mic when the historical final over of the World t20 was bowled. West Indies were 19 runs shorts and they had 6 balls to get to these runs.

Stokes was bowling for England while Carlos Brathwaite had the bat in his hands with Marlon Samuels; the man for the big moments was standing at the running end. West Indies won the game in the first four balls as Brathwaite hit 4 sixes on first four balls.

Bishop was commentating most of the time in that over. Lloyd was keener on giving the former West Indian most of the talk time so that the former West Indian enjoys what he was witnessing. Two screens were placed in front of Bishop and Lloyd giving them the live feed on the game as well as all the stats were also present in front of them.

It was a memorable night for all the West Indians and to those as well who were supporting the West Indies from all over the globe. Ian Bishop mentioned that West Indies has a huge fan club in this part of the world.

This is true as both Pakistan and Indian fans have mentioned them as their second favorite side after their national teams. This is the same reason that when India lost to West Indies in the semifinals there was not much bashing done to the Indian team by the media and local public. They were happy that they lost to West Indies and, as a result, West Indies became the new favorites for the Indian fans.

Umpire Billy Bowden had to run back to stop Hussey from leaving the field who showed a sign of surprise. He was then told the real account of the decision. Hussey laughed at the error and went back to bat but Dhoni was not happy.Dhoni was livid and the signs of frustration were evident on his face. Samuels and Warne issues, complete details

West Indies Marlon Samuels and former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne have a long history and it is full of rift and harsh words. This rivalry started when the two had n intense fight with each other in a BBL game.

Warne words hit Samuels so hard that he lost his temper and threw his bat aerial. It did not hit anyone but Warne kept signaling to him as a man who has lost his mind. This all continued when West Indies toured Australia recently.

In the test game in Sydney, Samuels lost his wicket due to a runout and Warne who was commentating at that time gain spoke against Samuels and called his fault that he lost his wicket in a runout.

Warne’s recent odd comments came out in the semi-final between India and West Indies during the World t20 few days back. Samuels did not play a length ball well enough and gave a simple catch to Rahane.

Warne put questions on Samuels technique and his position at number 3 which he thought should be given to some other player. Samuels in all these months remained quiet and did not say anything against Warne.

But he broke his silence last night. Samuels hit 85 runs and laid the foundations for other to come and get the game. Samuels in the man of the match ceremony and in the press conference spoke back to Warne saying that he was waiting for his bat to talk and he has once again shown that he is the man of big moments. Samuels said that Warne is having some issues with him which he doest not know much about.

Great celebrations in PTV studio for West Indies

Like most parts of the world, PTV studio was also filled in with a lot of people supporting West Indies in the finals of the world t20. As the match was reaching the final stages, the nerves started to jangle. It was a thriller witnessed last night.

The moment the last six was hit and West Indies won. The studio erupted and the crew was seen jumping up and down in complete happiness. Brian Lara was leading the celebrations and he was followed by Nouman Niaz, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Rashid Latif.

Glenn McGrath was always the quiet fellow. But still it was absolutely great to see the crew celebrating this win. There was hardly anyone supporting England. This is the scenario which made Ian Bishop say that West Indies is the second most popular team in the subcontinent.

People in Pakistan and India like them a lot. Most of the West Indians are part of the IPl and also made it to the Inaugural edition of the PSL as well. Brian Lara was wearing Shalwar Kameez and not only this he made the Champion dance as well in the studio.

The host asked him that the celebrations would not be completed without the dance and Lara then had to make it and dedicate it to the West Indian players and people. Last night it was a huge moment for the West Indies players and people back home.

The team was facing a lot of problems before they came into India and all those problems and criticism made them into one unit. This was the secret of their success. The luck favored them at some crucial times and as a result, the West Indies held the world t20 for the second time last night.

Sammy appreciates Pakistani fans and their support

In his historical speech after winning the world t20 title last night, Sammy also spoke a few words for his and the West Indian fans living in Pakistan. He said that their support and love was special and he believes that the win is also for them as well.

There is no doubt that people in Pakistan and India both had them ranked as the second favorites after their national teams. West Indies has a huge fan club residing in India and Pakistan. People here love their spirit and gameplay.

Sammy had to mention it because he also knew that a huge support was coming to him from Pakistan and India as well. At the Eden Gardens there were a lot of people supporting them and the English fans were pretty much-limited din numbers to them.

Sammy had an emotional outburst in the speech. He targeted his board who has been making a lot of atrocities to the players. Sammy mentioned that the board has not paid salaries to the players for the last two years.

He also said that the team was not given any official kit and the manager of the team printed it in Kolkatta. Sammy also said that this win is for the West Indies people because they are the ones who have been pushing the team all the time.

Sammy said that they had nothing with them when they arrived in India. But all the problems and criticism on the team united them. They wanted to give a strong reply and this is the best reply that they have won the cup I the presence of some really strong teams.

Bravo, Shoaib and Sehwag singing and dancing, Champion song

West Indian all-rounder Bravo had a short with the team of Shoaib Akhtar and Virender Sehwag after the emphatic win over England that gave the West Indies their second world t20 title. Bravo was over the moon and so were the two hosts.

Bravo, Shoaib, and Sehwag danced to the Champion song and both Sehwag and Shoaib asked bravo to included Indian and Pakistani players in the lyrics. From India Bravo included the names of Kohli and Dhoni and from Pakistan he picked up Boom Boom Shahid Afridi and Ahmad Shahzad.

All of them sung the champion song and danced to the tune as well. Sehwag took a dig at Shoaib saying that he was supporting England till the 29th over and Shoaib said yes he did but once Stokes came into the bowl he knew this is the time when West Indies can take away the game.

West Indies have required 19 runs in the final over and thanks to some huge hitting by Brathwaite they managed to get those runs. Bravo agreed to Shoaib that it was a mistake made on the part of English captain.

There is always a time for every team when they achieve huge moments only if they stick together and for the West Indies the time came last night. West Indies played some extra ordinary cricket in the world t20 and they deserved to win the cup.

Shoaib praised the way the team played and said that he always wanted to see West Indies win because they celebrate in real style after getting the win. This is what the West Indians are known for. They always enjoy their cricket.

Samuels hard reply to Shane Warne

Marlon Samuels for a good number of months has been quiet about the Shane Warne controversy while are on the other hand made a lot of comments about him and his game. but anymore, last night the reply was given and it was quite strong from Samuels.

The two have a history and their rift started back in BBL when the two faced off and had a pretty intense verbal fight. Samuels at one point of that fight lost his cool and threw his bat away. At that moment, the people knew there will be more of it.

Then Warne started commenting on the game and the way Samuels play. The run out Samuels faced in the Sydney test was another episode of this rivalry chapter. Warne was sitting behind the mic in that game and he again took a dig at Samuels.

In the recent World t20 game against India, Warne once again criticized Samuels for the way he got out. He said that that was not rational at all. Samuels is a number 3 batsman and his technique are something not suitable for this number.

Last night Samuels scored an unbeaten 85 and took Wet Indies home in the finals of the world t20. At the presentation ceremony, he replied back to Warne. Samuels said that he would like to reply Wane with this man of the match award.

He said that he was quiet for all this time because he believes in giving it back with e bat and not mouth. Samuels surely stunned a lot of audience with his reply. It also clearly showed that he has not forgotten anything and was just waiting for the right moment.

The last 12 balls of the 2016 final match including four sixes

KOLKATA: Carlos Brathwaite hit four consecutive sixes in the last over as the West Indies stunned England to lift the World Twenty20 title in Kolkata on Sunday.

The Windies went into the last over needing 19 to win and with expert death bowler Ben Stokes handed the ball, it looked like England would see out the win.

But Brathwaite held his nerve to fire the Windies to an unlikely four-wicket win with two balls to spare, leaving Stokes devastated on the field.

Marlon Samuels anchored the West Indies’ run chase of 156 with an unbeaten 85, including nine boundaries and two sixes, after England had posted 155-9 in their 20 overs.

After being reduced to 11 for three, Samuels single-handedly kept the Caribbean team in the hunt with his 66-ball blitz.

Brathwaite finished on 34 not out off just 10 balls as the 2012 champions completed a hat-trick of titles after the women’s clinched their maiden trophy earlier on Sunday.

The Under-19 team had already lifted the youth World Cup in February.

The Windies also became the first team to lift the World T20 twice.

England’s batting hero Joe Root had hit Windies hard with a double strike when he shared the new ball with David Willey to get the West Indies’ openers trudging back to the dug out.

Root struck on his first ball as Johnson Charles skied a catch to mid-wicket but the really big wicket came on the third delivery when Chris Gayle departed.

Gayle tried an ambitious slog after hitting a first-ball boundary but could only find the fielder at long-on to trigger wild celebrations in the English camp.

Willey then got semi-final star Lendl Simmons out leg before wicket for nought to leave the Windies tottering at 11 for three.

Samuels unbeaten 85

Samuels counter-attacked by hitting Chris Jordan for three boundaries in the sixth and last over of the powerplay that cost England 16 runs.

Samuels, who was given an early life after wicketkeeper Jos Buttler grassed a caught behind, stitched a 75-run partnership with Dwayne Bravo (25) to help the Windies rebuild.

Willey turned up for his second spell with a double strike to hurt Windies’ hopes of reviving their chase as the asking-rate kept growing, but new man Brathwaite had other ideas.

Brathwaite managed an unbeaten 54-run stand with man-of-the-match Samuels to stun England.

“I can’t really express how much of a top knock (by Samuels) that was. We couldn’t turn back, it was a question of when not if,” said Brathwaite.

Bowling coach Curtly Ambrose was overjoyed.

“We believe we can chase any target because we’ve got some real firepower,” said the fast bowling legend.

“We believe we can chase any target because we’ve got some real firepower.”

Earlier West Indies’ bowlers justified captain Darren Sammy’s decision to field first as Samuel Badree and Andre Russell put England on the backfoot at only 23 for three in 4.4 overs.

Opening the attack for the Windies, leg-spinner Badree got Jason Roy clean out for a second ball duck and also accounted for struggling English skipper Eoin Morgan (5) in his third over.

Root (54), who struck his third half-century of the tournament, and Buttler (36) then came up with a fine re-building act to manage a 61-run fourth wicket partnership.

Medium-pacer Brathwaite got Buttler against the run of play when Bravo took a good catch at deep mid-wicket before celebrating with his customary ‘Champions’ dance.

Sammy soon cashed in on Bravo’s catch to bring him on to bowl and the medium-pacer obliged with two wickets in his second over.

England’s batting soon crumbled after Brathwaite got dangerman Root trudging back as a scoop shot turned out to be the in-form batsman’s undoing.

Braithwaite and Bravo shared three wickets apiece to hit England hard.

David Willey’s late cameo of 21 was studded with a boundary and two sixes and to give the England total some respect.
