Sangakkara makes a fool out of Sehwag

Kumar Sangakkara and Virendar Sehwag need no introduction to anyone who has watched and knew about cricket. The two are batting genius as both are retired from the game still people want them to get back into their respective sides.

Sangakkara we all know was one of the best left hand batsmen in the history of the game. He was also a pretty clever competitor when it comes to wicket keeping. Sangakkara was absolutely brilliant with the gloves as well.

He we see him taking Sehwag out completely off guard. The veteran Indian opener absolutely had no idea what happened to him. Sangakkara played a gamble and it paid him with fortunes, Sehwag’s wicket was priceless to be exact.

This ODI game was played in India and Sehwag was batting on 46. He was playing a typical knock which had plenty of boundaries in it. Sehwag steered a short of length ball outside the off stump towards the deep third man.

Sehwag then started jogging towards the other end. The fielder took the ball and threw it back to Sangakkara behind the wickets. Sangakkara caught the ball and then he just turned over and threw the ball towards the stumps nailed at the non-striker’s end.

Sangakkara was blind about the exact position of Sehwag as he had his back towards him. It was a gamble played by Sangakkara,  the ball hit the stumps and knocked them out. Sehwag looked surprised on the direct throw and then the appeal.

The Sri Lankan team shouted for a run out appeal. The infield umpire referred it to the third umpire and when the replays were seen, Sehwag was a couple of inches short when the throw dislodged the bails and as a result he was referred as out.
