West Indies have taken anther major title and it was like a fantasy story the way the have won the cup tonight. They were surely out of the game in the minds of many but inside their own heads they were sensing something and that something came in the final over.
Brathwaite hit 4 monster sixes to give West Indies final over win against England. Stokes was the bowler who had to defend 19 runs and with the talent he has there were strong chance that he will be able to defend this score.
Stokes baffled from the first hit. The ball was under the bat and Brathwaite hit it on the leg side and this hit cleared the fence easily. The interesting part is that Samuels who was on 85 could only witness all this as he was standing at the other end.
Stokes then bowled another poor ball and, this time, the hit went over the long-on. Another monster and when the third six was hit over long-off Stokes was on the ground sitting on his feet and trying to control his emotions.
At the final hit, he broke out in tears. The cup was gone and Stokes could not resist to the pain and agony and started crying. His teammates came to him and showed their support for their player.but Stokes knew because f him his team lost the match.
In the other camp, it was celebrations. The West Indian men and women both were there and dancing and enjoying holding the cup. The scenes were amazing on the historical ground of Eden Gardens. West Indies deserved this win for sure.
