Wasim Akram match saving 257* VS Zimbabwe

In 1996, the Zimbabwean cricket team came to Pakistan on a scheduled tour. The tourist played three test games and right in the first one they almost took over the whole match but then Wasim Akram retaliation forced them to take a step back.

Zimbabwean batted first and scored 375 thanks to some quality innings from opener Grant Flower and spinner Paul Strang. Both the players stroked tons to their names and helped the team build up a strong total for Pakistan.

Pakistan faced a lot of problems while batting in their first innings and as a result they at one stage were 183 for the loss of 6 wickets. At that stage, the Zimbabweans were dominating the game but then the Pakistan captain Wasim Akram walked into the field.

Wasim changed everything with his blistering knock. H attacked the leg spinner Paul Strang and took plenty of runs against him. this is where Wasim turned the table. He attacked their best bowler and as a result, the other bowlers came into pressure.

Wasim first made a fifty runs partnership with wicket-keeper batsman Moin Khan and later he could up a huge one with off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq.

Wasim-Saqlain partnership was the major turn for Pakistan. Wasim hit 22 fours and 12 sixes in his innings. Wasim was excellent using his feet and as a result, he was always among wicket-takers. Wasim Akram might have made a lot of bowling records but this one innings from him gave a lot of batting stats to him as well. Wasim Akram undoubtedly was the major main for Pakistan.
