Shahid Afridi hardly needs any introduction to the world of sports. He is famous for his big hitting abilities and cheeky leg spin bowling. Afridi is one of the highest wicket takers in T20 format of cricket and has played for almost 20 years of international cricket.
Afridi was inducted as a leg spinner in Pakistan team. In 1996, he went to Kenya as a replacement and there he struck that blistering world record of fastest ODI ton.
That one innings from him changed the whole context of his game and life. He was no more looked upon a bowler but a hard hitting batsman.
Pakistan cricket team started playing with him as an opener and Afridi was seen hitting balls. sometimes getting a lot of scores and sometimes he does not.
Afridi at a late stage went back to his bowling again. Earlier he was more like a side show in the bowling but then he worked hard on his bowling and proved that he still can turn the ball.
One of the most amazing shots that he played as a batsman was hit by him in Canada. Pakistan was playing an ODI against India and Afridi was the opener for Pakistan. Afridi immediately cut loose and started some runs.
He hit Kurowela for one of the most powerful and long sixes in that tournament. Kurowwela bowled a half-volley to Afridi whom he played very powerful. The bat kissed the sweet spot of the bat and went miles in the air and outside of the park. The ball almost broke out one of traffic signals present on the road. This hot clearly tells about how many muscles Afridi have in his body.
