De Villiers calls Younis Khan his teacher to Sweep shots

Yes, that is true, Younis Khan was the player who taught AB De Villiers how to play a controlled sweep shot. AB told this to Nasser Hussain while giving his interview for a short film made on AB with the title The White ball King.

AB said that the best thing about Younis Khan’s sweep shot is that he has full authority on it. he gets down really low to cover the height on the ball. The reach he gets by pulling out his front leg enable him to get to the pitch of the ball.

It is the best shot you play against spinners on any track. The idea is to kill the rotation on the ball so you have to get over it. Sweep shot enables you to get over the ball with authority. It takes a lot of practice to get a good sweep shot.

AB also said that Younis has a full authority on the sweep shot. He bends down to the height of the ball and his front foot reach makes him take the first-hand advantage over the ball. He does mind hitting the ball in the air. He always plays the sweep shot to prevent himself from getting lbw or bowled.

AB said that he can play sweep shot on both sides of the batting line. Obviously, we have seen him hitting the conventional and unconventional sweep shots in the limited edition of the game.

AB is known for his dynamic with the bat. he is a record holder player in the ODI format. He has the fastest hundred and fifty to his name. AB is a master of hitting the ball in the gaps. He also generates a lot of power to his shots for sixes. This is what marks him a complete batsman in all three formats of the game.
